These are some of the animals that we have encountered on our property. Some are very common and we expect to see them all of the time, while others have proven to be more elusive.
Since we are directly on the border of Manuel Antonio National Park there is an abundance of wildlife which which has no idea that it has passed over the border of the park right onto our retreat property. We very often see at least one type of monkey each day, and we have been lucky enough to see all three species at one time. Bird watching is especially good in the early mornings, and our jungle cat sightings have only been captured on our trail camera at night . It’s not at all common to have three type of jungle cats, so we are feeling very lucky to have a very healthy eco system surrounding us here at the retreat.
We’ve listed the common names in both English and Spanish.
